For your HEALTH

I have compiled a few simple, home made, solutions that I like. Cheers, to your good health !

SUGAR SUBSTITUTE

You can replace the sugar in most recipes with raisin or date puree, applesauce or a low dose of honey. For low carb, use powdered stevia ( be sure it doesn't have maltodextrin ) or a 50/50 mix of stevia & erythritol, or a sweetener such as swerve.

Dry winter air and cold conditions can be very hard on the skin, and many lotions creams and cold medicines are not gluten free... in fact it seems there's a recall on something or other nearly every week. So, back to basics... here are some simple and effective home remedies for you !

Cough syrup ( not keto )
Boil a lemon for 5 - 10 mins and then slice it open and juice it.

Add
2 Tbsp. glycerine
2 Tbsp. honey
mix well and take a teaspoon whenever you need it.
Fresh lemon is full of vitamins and the honey is a natural antibacterial !

( Unpasteurized honey is not for children under 1 year old )

Dry Hand Revitalizer
slather your hands generously with extra virgin olive oil, or coconut oil.

slip them into some plastic gloves ( I use the disposable medical ones)
sit for at least 10 minutes, remove gloves and cover your hands with a couple teaspoons of sea salt. Rub gently to exfoliate and rinse your hands. Presto, just like getting a manicure !
The olive oil contains vitamin E, and the salt is a natural abrasive.

Hair Conditioner
place a towel ( to wrap your hair in ) in a large bowl of very hot water.

Pour at least half a cup of coconut milk over your head and massage into your hair.
Wring out and wrap the hot towel over your head and leave until it is cooled.
Rinse.
The coconut has many conditioning properties and by using the hot towel, the pores in your hair will open up so that it can penetrate better.

Dry Winter skin spa bath

Soak in the bath...

but first add 1 or 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to it !
Too much alkaline soap can reduce skins acidity and make it itchy.
The vinegar restores that.

Other bath additives to try....
-5 cranberry tea bags
-a 1/8th of a cup of castor oil will soften your skin
- a 1/4 cup of rose water ( from your pharmacy or health food store )
